Global Observer
About the Global Observer
The Global Observer was originally published at irregular
intervals at Going Global, http://www.going-global.com/,
the site for newbies to the Internet and international business. The publication gained
some notoriety with a Special Report, "Evaluating Trade Leads", which was
originally published in 1997. This article covered extensively the issue of trade leads
and the Internet and challenged some long held assumptions and myths about the subject.
Having been reprinted on several websites, it has been hailed by some experts as one of
the most important articles on the subject and is being used by world trade clubs and
small business development centers as a training aid. It was first summarized in the July
1998 issue of the Gateway newsletter at Trade Compass.
The Global Observer was then moved over to Trade
Compass in the spring of 2000. Since that time, it has been
irregularily published except for some special reports. Plans are being
made to consolidate the various issues and reports published at Trade
Compass, Going Global and elsewhere and to then publish a new format under
its own domain during the summer of 2001.
The Global Observer covers diverse issues concerning
international business and the Internet. In the past , it has covered such subjects as
working with an international business consultant, software, websites, how-to articles on
expanding into global markets, issues concerning trade intermediaries and a wide variety
of issues concerning newbies to the Internet and global business.
You can still access the two special
reports that really gave this newsletter its original start here at Going
Global:
Evaluating
Trade Leads
Evaluating
Foreign Distributors
Sometime during late summer or early autumn
of 2004, we expect to move the Global Observer to its own subweb at Going
Global and to revive it as a regular online newsletter with special
reports.
